Social Responsibilities

Royal Indigo Villa – Social Responsibility

We have created a charity vehicle called the LizSuja Foundation, in the name of our mother’s who both passed away suddenly within a month of each other 3 years ago. The aim is to carry out work within the Thalpe and broader Southern Province areas to assist in community projects and various welfare projects that come to our attention. Royal Indigo is donating a percentage of its revenue to these causes.
To date we have undertaken on a large renovating project at the local Buddhist Primary School in Thalpe which has over 600 students attending. A list was drawn up by the school principle, Mr Manoj , and to date we have renovated and furnished a teachers room, added a sick bay and renovated and built several other rooms including adding electricity and ceiling fans. There are many items still to complete including the addition of a toilet block.
We have also provided a new sign for the local Talpe Railway Station at the request of the station master who could not get funding from the government. This is a beautiful old colonial station which is kept immaculately by the staff there and well worth a visit.
We have and will continue to support the local temples by providing Dana or Almsgiving days along with donations. The local Buddhist monks have been generous in coming to bless our Villa at various times during the build and at special occasions since.
We employ directly and indirectly over 10 full time staff and see it as an important part of our role to provide both local employment opportunities and assist with community and cultural projects.
We would like to thank those people who have already donated funds for such projects on top of The Villa’s contribution.
We will update this page as new projects are undertaken.
Thanks
