The villa is located in Talpe, a tiny little tourist town between Koggala and Unawatuna. And it’s right on the sea, just open the garden door and step on the sand on the beach. A wild and beautiful beach, which is not much people and is ideal for walking and see turtles. We were lucky to see a lot of turtles born whose eggs were buried just 50 meters from the villa and we helped them to reach the ocean. It was a wonderful experience.
Royal Indigo is a villa designed for groups or families who want to have a unique and exclusive experience, since the rooms are not rented separately but the entire house. It can accommodate up to 10 people, since it has 4 bedrooms, all with a double bed and one with extra bunk beds.
It is a villa that combines modernity and tradition. It has an architecture and a modern style but each one of its rooms and spaces are decorated with great pleasure incorporating exclusive old pieces, like windows, doors, furniture and even columns of an ancient temple.
The most characteristic feature of this villa is its open spaces. All the bedrooms, the dining room and the living room face the sea and have sliding wooden doors that make you feel in continuous contact with the sea and it is very relaxing. It also has a beautiful garden that has an infinity pool of salt water.
Another thing to highlight is the food. The house has its own chef and it’s wonderful how that man cooks! We try mainly local food and we can say that everything, absolutely everything, was exquisite. He has lived in Italy for several years, so he can also cook western food.
Both the house workers and the owners do everything possible to make you feel comfortable and at home. They are very friendly, they always have a smile on their faces and they care about you at all times. They also recommended a lot of places to visit and restaurants to eat and they have their own tuktuk service with fair prices.
